Farewell To The Pound Coin As We Know It
A new 12-sided one pound coin based on the threepenny bit, said to be the hardest in the world to fake, is set to be announced by George Osborne in his Budget today. Described as a giant leap into the future the new coin will replace the old one, after the Treasury announced that 3% in circulation are fake a total of over 45 million. The coin is based on the historic three pence piece, also known as the Threepenny bit , which was the first coin to feature a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. But unlike its predecessor, the new coin which will be roughly the same size as the existing one when introduced in 2017 will contain an array of technological advances making it difficult to forge.

Assamese film shines at North Carolina festival
A film centred around Majuli, one of the largest river islands in the world, has won the audience choice award at this year s North Carolina Film Festival. The film is all about the struggle of the people living in and around Majuli especially the complications born out of the home-bred insurgency. Ekhon Nedekha Nadir Sipare directed by Bidyut Kotoky, an Assamese film maker, has also been selected for the 14th Annual New York Indian Film Festival scheduled to be held in May. The bilingual film was produced by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). I am glad that the film has won the audience choice award. It just goes on to reconfirm our belief that the colour of human emotions is the same in any part of the globe. But more than that, it is a pleasure to learn that someone in the other side of the planet has become aware of our own Majuli and its people. The island is an intrinsic part of Assam and it is necessary that more and more people come to know about it, said Kotoky

8 Common pregnancy myths busted
Here are some things you often hear when the stork has decided to pay a visit. Myth 1: One of the most common myths that surround pregnancy is the shape of a woman s stomach. If a woman is carrying high, in all possibility it is a girl and if she is carrying low it is a boy. Fact: Experts say there is no scientific basis for this assumption and it is the woman s muscle size, structure, the position of the foetus, posture, and the amount of fat deposited around her abdomen that play a role in the size and shape of a pregnant belly. Myth 2: Craving for salty foods means you re having a boy. Craving for sweet foods indicate a girl is expected. Fact: Research shows that cravings have nothing to do with determining the sex of a baby. Myth 3: Another myth is predicting the sex of the baby by holding a string with a ring in it over a pregnant belly. If it moves back and forth it is a boy, if it moves in a circle, it is a girl. Fact: While there is no truth in this, you could probably do it f

Taliban Say They Didn’t Take MH370, But Wish They Had
The Taliban has said that it had nothing to do with the disappearance of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane – but that it wished it had been able to hijack the flight. As the frantic search for the 239 on board enters its 11th day, Taliban militants – along with aviation officials in Pakistan, India and central Asia – said Tuesday that they knew nothing about the whereabouts of the passenger jet. A spokesman for the Taliban in Afghanistan, told Reuters the group “do not have any information as it is an external issue.” Another unnamed Taliban source in Pakistan added: “We wish we had an opportunity to hijack such a plane.” Investigators are said to be pursuing the theory that the Boeing 777-200 was diverted thousands of kilometres off course as the search for the plane extends into central Asia. Malaysia has confirmed that it sent diplomatic notes to all countries along an arc of the northern and southern corridors, including Pakistan and India, requesting access to rad

Malaysia Plane Search Area Now Size of Australia
An international land and sea search for a missing Malaysian jetliner is covering an area the size of Australia, authorities said on Tuesday, but police and intelligence agencies have yet to establish a clear motive to explain its disappearance. Investigators are convinced that someone with deep knowledge of the Boeing 777-200ER and commercial navigation diverted Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, carrying 12 crew and 227 mainly Chinese passengers, perhaps thousands of miles off its scheduled course from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. But intensive background checks of everyone aboard have so far failed to find anyone with a known political or criminal motive to hijack or deliberately crash the plane, Western security sources and Chinese authorities said. Malaysian Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein told a news conference the unique, unprecedented search covered a total area of 2.24 million nautical miles (7.68 million sq km), from central Asia to the southern Indian Ocean. Moto 360 by Motorola Smartwatch Powered By Android Wear
Motorola has unveiled the Moto360 smartwatch powered by Android Wear. Google just announced Android Wear earlier today to extend Android functionality to wearable devices. The wristwatch has been through several evolutions since it first became a popular fashion accessory more than a 100 years ago. From mechanical to electronic movements, analog to digital faces, the wristwatch has been reinvented several times over, but the basic design has endured for a century because of its elegance and usefulness ‘at a glance.’ Our vision for Moto 360 was to celebrate that history as we reimagined the wristwatch for the future. Features: ● Moto 360 keeps you on time and up to date without taking you out of the moment or distracting you, telling you what you need to know before you know you need it through subtle alerts and notifications. With just a twist of the wrist you can see who’s emailing or calling, what time your next meeting is or a friend’s latest social post. ● Moto 360 als

Fresh incursion attempt by Chinese soldiers in Ladakh area
Chinese troops made a fresh attempt to violate the border with India in Chumar area in Ladakh on Sunday and retreated only after ITBP and Army jawans formed a human wall to block their incursion bid. Chumar, located 300 km east of Leh, has been an epicentre of heightened activities of the Chinese People s Liberation Army (PLA) who had been making increased attempts to enter through this region, official sources said today. Giving details of the incursion bid, the sources said that nine PLA soldiers first reached the border area at 0700 hours on March 16 and were stopped by the jawans which was followed by the customary banner drill. However, in no time 10 more PLA personnel arrived on the scene riding horses and joined their colleagues to make attempts to move ahead into the Indian territory. Chinese troops made repeated assertions that it was their territory and they were headed towards to Tible area, five km deep into the Indian territory, the sources said. Explaining their action,

Porn And Sex Selfies: The Habits Of People Who Cheat
Most of us are under the assumption that the main reason people cheat is to have lots and lots of sex. However, a new survey that polled the members of an extra-marital dating revealed that while porn and sex selfies feature highly, people in affairs only have sex about twice a month. Members of AshleyMadison.com in Britain and globally answered questions about their love life and practices. The ‘sex selfie’ filming or photographing yourself having sex – appears to be a surprisingly widespread practice world-wide but the UK beats the global average. 71% of British male respondents and 69% of women have taken a sex selfie, compared with an average of 60% globally. The phenomenon was especially popular in Taiwan and Japan but in France, 38% of men and 34% of women said they prefer the solo sex selfie with no partner present. Watching pornography is also the norm world-wide but the survey shows that UK is again way above the global average: Nearly 75% of the British men surveyed an

Arvind Kejriwal crosses the line with ‘paid media’ remarks
The increasingly intolerant actions of AAP have dashed the hopes of Arvind Kejriwal s ardent supporters. In the 1920s, many great intellectuals embraced communism. Disillusioned with the exploitation by the new capitalists and horrified with the working-class ghettos that sprang up in the wake of the industrial revolution, they flirted with Marxism and Leninism in search of the Promised Land and many became card-carrying members. Among them, six extraordinary individuals, led by Arthur Koestler, disenchanted after their short love affair with communism, described their experience in a celebrated book, The God That Failed . The Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, in a similar fashion, has drawn support and admiration from many prominent individuals: intellectuals like Lord Meghnad Desai and Amartya Sen, bureaucrats and diplomats, military generals, people from media and Bollywood celebrities. They publicly endorsed the AAP and a few joined the party. Many of whom now are disenchanted with th

Missing Malaysian jetliner: Maldives islanders saw ‘low flying plane’
As multiple nations search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 frantically, reports are emerging that the plane was spotted by some people near the Maldivian islands. Maldivian news website Haveeru reported that residents of the remote Maldives island of Kuda Huvadhoo in Dhaal Atoll said they saw a low-flying jumbo jet around 6.15am (Maldivian time) on March 8, the day when the flight disappeared. It also said the residents reported that that it was a white aircraft, with red stripes across it like the planes operated by Malaysia Airlines. Haveeru quoted an eyewitness as saying: I ve never seen a jet flying so low over our island before. We ve seen seaplanes, but I m sure that this was not one of those. I could even make out the doors on the plane clearly. The eyewitness said many other people on the island have also seen the plane.

15 jawans killed in Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh
Sixteen people were killed in a gun battle after Naxals ambushed them in the heavily-forested district of Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday morning, close to the spot where 25 people, including top Congress leaders, were killed in a Naxal ambush last year. 15 soldiers have been martyred and one civilian casualty has taken place. Out of the 15 soldiers, 11 are from CRPF (Central Reserve Paramilitary Force) and four are from district police, DIG, State Intelligence Bureau, Dipanshu Kabra said. According to sources, the Naxals first caused an explosion to stop the 50-member joint team of the CRPF and the state police and then opened fire at them in the Tongpal area near the Jeeram valley at around 10:30 am. A fierce encounter followed for over three hours. The group of over 100 Naxals outnumbered the security personnel, who fought back till their ammunition ran out. Bodies of all 16 people killed in the attack have been recovered; three injured jawans are being treated in state capita

Sourav Ganguly taught us how to win outside India, says Harbhajan Singh | Cricket – News
Considering his extremely good record at the Eden Gardens, out-of-favour spinner Harbhajan Singh on Tuesday likened the venue to a mother, who has always given something to her son, and hoped that it would yet again prove to be special for him as he aims to win Vijay Hazare trophy for Punjab. Leading his state side in the ongoing domestic One-day trophy, Harbhajan is optimistic that he would be able to get a favourable result. Whenever I have come to Eden, I have never returned empty-handed. It has always been very special and close to my heart. Whether I play for India, Mumbai Indians or any other team, the Eden has given me everything. It has been like another mom to me. Hope it will be special again for us, the Punjab skipper said on eve of their quarter-final against Railways in Kolkata. It was at Eden that he played a vital role in India s historic Test win against Australia in 2001 when he took 13 wickets. Then his IPL side Mumbai Indians also won the trophy here last year after

Rahul Gandhi compares Narendra Modi to Hitler
While in Gujarat today, Rahul Gandhi compared its top man, Chief Minister Narendra Modi, to Adolf Hitler his sharpest attack yet on a rival who is forecast to beat him in the upcoming general election. Mr Modi, the BJP s prime ministerial candidate, has topped several opinion polls as the most popular choice to head the next government. His campaign has been studded with promises of getting India out of its economic downturn and creating jobs for the surging young population. The Congress after a decade in power has been dented by a retinue of corruption scandals. There is another type of leader, said Mr Gandhi, who is leading the Congress campaign, after describing Mahatma Gandhi. The biggest example is Hitler. Hitler, who believed that there was no need to learn from the people and who thought whatever happened in Germany was done by Hitler and that the people had nothing to do with it.

AAP functions like private limited company, says exiting member
The Aam Aadmi Party or AAP lost a senior leader and early supporter today, who derided the party for choosing to function now like a private limited company. Ashok Aggarwal, a lawyer-activist, was one of the 24 members of the party s national executive committee. He said, The movement seems to have become directionless the connect of Aam Aadmi is on the wane and a group of elite individuals is promoted to take over the party. AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai said, It is unfortunate that Mr Aggarwal has quit the party. But he never raised these issues at a party forum. Sources in AAP also say that Mr Aggarwal s resignation is in retaliation for the party over-looking him to choose former journalist Ashutosh as its candidate from the Chandni Chowk constituency in Delhi. Noted dancer and social activist Mallika Sarabhai, who joined AAP in January, has in the past been critical of Kumar Vishwas, who will run against Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi. AAP defends Rs 20,000 per person dinner with Kejriwal, says it was transparent
Fending off criticism about its “Rs 20,000 per person” dinner with Arvind Kejriwal, AAP on Tuesday claimed it was a transparent way of raising money, unlike the mainstream parties where 75 per cent of funding came from “unknown” sources. “We are raising money for fighting election in an open and transparent way,” former Infosys Board Member and AAP candidate from Bangalore Central V Balakrishnan, who is said to be co-ordinating the event, told reporters here. The AAP’s fund raising dinner, in which people could participate after contributing Rs 20,000 per person, is scheduled for March 15 when Kejriwal will hold roadshow in and around the city, followed by a public rally the next day. “We are asking people to come there, interact with Arvind, understand his ideas and if they can contribute minimum Rs 20,000, that will help us in fighting election in more honest way,” Balakrishnan said. LG seeks President’s assent for criminal case against Somnath Bharti
Lt Governor Najeeb Jung has sought the President’s assent to register a criminal case against former Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti in connection with the midnight raid against African women following Home Department’s observation that such a case was made out against the controversial minister. The judicial probe report by retired Additional District Judge B L Garg had virtually given a clean chit to the Malviya Nagar police in the incident in Khirki Extension. The report was submitted to Jung in February. According to sources in the Delhi Secretariat, the Lt Governor had forwarded the report to the state government’s Home and Law and Justice departments seeking their views on it. The Home department, which stated that a criminal case was made out against the former Law Minister, had sought the Law department’s views on whether Bharti’s name should be involved in the already registered case against unknown persons or a seperate case needed to be registered. Chinese takeaway: Beijing’s Ukraine
Whenever Russia and the West fight, China’s geopolitical leverage goes up. This trend, which stood the test of time for more than a century, is now playing out again in the deepening crisis in Ukraine. As Washington and Moscow squabble over Ukraine, both are reaching out to Beijing. China, unsurprisingly, is playing hard to get. Chinese President Xi Jinping was among the first world leaders that Russian President Vladimir Putin called last week. When Moscow put out the word that China was in sync with Russia’s position on Ukraine, Beijing hinted, “not exactly”. Sensing the gap in the positions of Beijing and Moscow, US President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel reached out to Xi this week. The Chinese president, of course, is neither endorsing Russia nor the West. He is calling for calm, restraint and a diplomatic solution. Hyundai Verna 2014: The road runner
Few cars attract buyers the way the Hyundai Fluidic Verna has been doing so since it was launched in 2011. Within a few months of its launch, the Fluidic Verna became segment leader and has retained its standing. Despite the slowdown in the mid-size sedan segment, the car continued to post positive growth. In fact, the Fluidic Verna increased its market share in the segment from 31% in 2012 to 37% in 2013. But competition has been heating up. The new, much-improved Honda City is eating into Verna sales. Now, the Verna has powerful engine options, its build quality is among the best and it is a very well-equipped car, but where it faltered was the way its suspension behaved at high speeds. Although it was fun to drive in the city limits, but on the highway, especially at speeds above 80 kmph, the steering-feel used to be almost unresponsive and the ride was bouncy. The good news is Hyundai has worked upon these shortcomings and has also introduced a few additional features in the 2014

Flight MH370: 13 Things You Need To Know
As the search for Flight MH370 continues, we answer 13 questions about the disappearance and what could have happened. When did the plane disappear? Flight MH370 vanished from radars early on Saturday, an hour into a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. When it last made contact, the jet was cruising at 35,000 feet over the South China Sea. There are reports that the plane tried to turn around but this would give rise to the question: why didn t the pilot communicate this decision to air traffic control? Meanwhile, at an undisclosed time a relative reportedly managed to call one of the passengers. Investigators have repeatedly tried to call the same number without success. Who was on board? The plane s manifest contained 12 crew from Malaysia and 227 passengers from 14 different countries: 153 Chinese, 38 Malaysians, seven Indonesians, six Australians, five Indians, four French, three Americans, two each from Iran (both travelling on fake passports), New Zealand, Ukraine and Canada, a

Syria ‘Trapped’ Children Need Help, Says UN
Up to a million children are trapped in areas under siege in Syria, more than twice as many as 12 months ago, according to a Unicef report. The charity is highlighting the huge damage caused to the more than five million children now affected by the conflict and calls for an immediate end to the violence and increased support for. The report called Under Siege, the devastating impact on children of three years of conflict in Syria tells the story of children whose lives have been devastated by the three-year-old war. One of these children is four-year old Adnan, who suffered facial scarring when his home was bombed and fled with his family to Lebanon he still suffers from emotional distress. He cries all night, his mother is quoted as saying. He is scared of everything and is afraid when we leave him, even for a second. Unicef estimates there are two million children like Adnan in need of psychological support or treatment.

Narendra Modi’s political journey from RSS worker to BJP’s PM candidate
Narendra Damodar Modi, one of India s most polarising figures, is the BJP s choice for Prime Minister. The announcement came despite stiff opposition from BJP heavyweight LK Advani. His supporters argue that it was inevitable after the Gujarat Chief Minister was made the chairman of the BJP s election strategy committee, which virtually made him the party s face for the national elections due by May. It became clear in December 2012 that Narendra Modi s aspiration to step out of Gujarat could not be ignored after he registered a third successive and very convincing win in the Assembly elections. In the days since, he has lunched with ambassadors of the European Union, which ended its decade-long boycott of the Gujarat Chief Minster saying, we are now in a new phase. They had boycotted all diplomatic engagement with him after the 2002 communal riots in Gujarat. And though the US continues to deny him a visa, some lawmakers in that country have suggested that the policy be reviewed. Cri

Fujifilm X-E2 review: A camera worthy of Rs 1 lakh tag
Before we take a detailed look at Fujifilm X-E2, let s talk about its price. A camera that costs Rs 1,09,999 with the kit lens (18-55mm) is an expensive preposition for almost all mainstream consumers. Even those who are passionate about photography will think twice before opting for Fujifilm X-E2 because of its high price. In body only package it costs Rs 76,999. But this is a price that we feel is justified. We don t say it often for very expensive gadgets. But after spending over two weeks with X-E2, we feel confident in recommending it to you, granted you need it and want to spend more than Rs 1 lakh on a camera that is not a DSLR. But why do we say this? Dive in for a better look at X-E2. Small yet in the league of big boys X-E2 is an update to Fujifilm X-E1, a camera that was launched in 2012. Just like its predecessor, X-E2 uses a body made of magnesium and plastic. There is more metal than plastic though. This gives the camera a sturdy and premium feel. It also gives it much n

Blog: An Aam Aadmi and a chartered plane
The use of a business jet by Arvind Kejriwal to fly to Delhi from Jaipur has stirred a hornet s nest. One TV channel went on a frontal assault alleging outright hypocrisy and devoted a full half hour for debate with all the major political parties including AAP and other eminent guests participating on the panel. The mainstream political parties, whose leaders virtually live in business jets in the run up to elections, attacked Kejriwal with sadistic glee and self-righteously tried to justify the extravagance of their own leaders. Kejriwal himself attempted a weak defence when he tweeted, I used India Today private jet as there were no airline flights to attend India Today annual media event. Let Modi, Sonia and Rahul too disclose who s providing them air crafts. It was lost in the din. The damage was done. Social media was already tearing him apart. Two on missing Malaysia jet used stolen EU passports
Foreign ministry officials in Rome and Vienna confirmed on Saturday that names of two nationals listed on the manifest of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight match passports reported stolen in Thailand. Neither European was on the plane, which disappeared on Saturday less than an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur bound for Beijing, officials said. The Italian was traveling in Thailand and the Austrian was located in his native country. The father of the Italian man told The Associated Press that his son s passport had been stolen a year and a half ago while traveling in Thailand. He deposited it with rental car agency, and when he returned the car it was gone, Walter Maraldi said by telephone from his home in the northern Emilia-Romagna region. Walter Maraldi said authorities could not tell him whether the stolen passport or a counterfeit copy was used by a passenger to board the aircraft.

Modi a ‘property dealer’ for Ambani, Adani and Tatas, Arvind Kejriwal says
Launching a broadside against Narendra Modi on his home turf, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday called the BJP s prime ministerial candidate a property dealer for corporates like Ambani, Adani and Tatas. Addressing his maiden rally in Gujarat on the concluding day of his four-day fact-finding tour on the development claims made by Modi, Kejriwal said the Gujarat chief minister denied him appointment yesterday because he was afraid of facing him. People of Gujarat are fed up of corruption and want a change. Corruption is rampant in the state and education and health services are in shambles, Kejriwal said at the rally held after his roadshow. As the Haryana chief minister is the property dealer for Robert Vadra, the Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi is property dealer for Adani, Ambani and Tatas. He acquires land from farmers and gives (it) to industrialists at throwaway prices, Kejriwal alleged.

Asia Cup 2014: Lahiru Thirimanne ton, Lasith Malinga fifer take Sri Lanka to title
Sri Lanka regained the Asia Cup trophy with a comfortable five-wicket victory over defending champions Pakistan, riding on Lasith Malinga’s five-wicket haul and opener Lahiru Thrimanne’s fluent century. Sri Lanka were clinical as they restricted Pakistan to a modest 260 for five and then overhauled the target with 22 balls to spare to lift their fifth Asia Cup title. The last time they won the regional championship was in 2008. Malinga pegged Pakistan back as he demolished the rival top order with his fierce pace and it was Fawad Alam’s magnificent unbeaten 114 that guided the holders to a decent total after deciding to bat. Pakistan skipper Misbah ul Haq (65) and Umar Akmal (59) too batted with determination with fighting half-centuries as none of other Lankan bowlers could take a wicket.

Vietnam spots oil slicks in hunt for missing Malaysia Airlines plane
Vietnamese air force planes on Saturday spotted two large oil slicks in the area where a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 vanished earlier in the day, the first sign that the aircraft carrying 239 people on board had crashed. The air force planes were part of a multinational search operation launched after Flight MH370 fell off radar screens less than an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing early Saturday morning. A Vietnamese government statement said the slicks were spotted late Saturday off the southern tip of Vietnam and were each between 10 kilometers (6 miles) and 15 kilometers (9 miles) long. There was no confirmation that the slicks were related to the missing plane, but the statement said they were consistent with the kinds that would be produced by the two fuel tanks of a crashed jetliner.

Congress objects to Amitabh Bachchan being used for Gujarat Tourism Ads
The Congress party (Vadodara chapter) has approached the Election Commission of India, objecting to the shooting of advertisements for Gujarat Tourism when the Model Code of Conduct is in place. The Congress has objected to Bollywood film star Amitabh Bachchan visiting Vadodara and Pavagadh on March 10, 11 and 12 to promote tourism in the state, saying that Bachchan’s celebrity status will be used by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the state to woo voters through the tourism ads. The shooting for ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’ campaign is scheduled from March 10 to March 12 at Champaner, 30 km from Ahmedabad. The State Election Officer will now examine the validity of the complaint with respect to the Model Code of Conduct guidelines. Five Indians among 239 on board missing Malaysia Airlines plane
A Malaysia Airlines flight carrying 227 passengers, including five Indians, and 12 crew members crashed into the South China Sea on Saturday, Vietnamese state media said, quoting a senior naval official. The Boeing 777-200ER flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing had been missing for hours when Vietnam s Tuoi Tre news quoted Admiral Ngo Van Phat as saying he had asked boats from an island off south Vietnam to rush to the crash site. If the report is confirmed, it would mark the U.S.-built airliner s deadliest crash since entering service 19 years ago. Malaysia Airlines had yet to confirm that the aircraft had crashed. It said earlier in the day that no distress signal had been given and cited early speculation that the plane may have landed in Nanming in southern China. Flight MH370, operating a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, last had contact with air traffic controllers 120 nautical miles off the east coast of the Malaysian town of Kota Bharu, Malaysia Airlines chief executive Ahmad Jauhari

Ranbaxy recalls some batches of generic Lipitor in latest quality blow
Indian drugmaker Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd, reeling under a flurry of regulatory rebukes due to poor quality, has recalled more than 64,000 bottles of the generic version of a cholesterol-lowering drug in the United States after doseage mix-up was detected. Ranbaxy recalled tablets of atorvastatin calcium, the generic version of Pfizer Inc s cholesterol fighter Lipitor, after a pharmacist found a 20-milligram tablet in a sealed bottle marked for 10-milligram tablets, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on its website. Medical professor shot at in Imphal
Taruni, a professor of Medicine in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, was shot and wounded on Friday night by unknown assailants. She was rushed to the RIMS hospital with a bullet injury in the head. Doctors and post-graduate students immediately closed the emergency ward in protest. Sources said that Dr. Taruni was in her private clinic a little away from the RIMS complex. There is a strict order from the RIMS authority not to indulge in private practices since the faculties in the institute are drawing non-practising allowance at the rate of 25 per cent of their salary. At 8:49 pm she was busy examining her patients in the clinic when three shots were fired. Reports say that a rifle might have been used to fire the shots. The bullets pierced the glass partitions. Though two of the bullets missed her, the third bullet hit her at the back of the head. Perhaps on seeing her slumped body the assailants fled. She was immediately rushed to the RIMS hospital.
